Rembrandt Homes together with Bethanys Hope Foundation presented “Feast with Friends” …. Charity Dinner Party on Thursday, April 5th, 2018 at the beautiful London Convention Centre. This extraordinary interactive culinary event was hosted by Food Network Star, Canada’s best known chef and our long-time friend, Chef Michael Smith.
The adventure began with our fabulous cocktail hour hosted by Chef Michael and his famous “Oyster Bar” along five exciting appetizer “Live-Action” Stations. They were very generously sponsored by our talented local Chef’s/Restaurants including; Chef David Lamers of Abruzzi Ristorante, Chef Ryan Hancock of Villa Cornelia, Chef Justin Wolfe of Wolfe of Wortley, The Early Bird and Los Lobos, Chef Trevor Stephens from the Idlewyld Inn and Chef Wade Fitzgerald – Teacher Culinary Skills Program, Fanshawe College along with his awesome student brigade! These amazing culinary Teams served their special appetizers under a spectacular timber frame structure generously constructed by Black River Timber Framing while we all enjoyed the music of London’s very own Sarina Haggarty!
Chef Michael and Chef David VanEldik of the Convention Centre guided all the guests thru a very, very “interactive dinner”, allowing everyone to participate in one way or another. From Beef Cake, Best Cooks to Dish Washers….. there was a job for everyone!! Throughout the evening…. all our friends tapped their toes to the always fabulous Sheridan Band.
Thanks to a very special friend of the Foundation we had a “Record Breaking Night” for Research funding!! Once again the Convention Centre was rockin’ with the energy and genuine compassion of the fabulous Layne – The Auctionista as she tugged our heart strings…. and entertained/guided us all thru the Fund-a-Need Program and Live Auctions!
Thanks to Dr. Tony Rupar, our Guests were updated on our Research Program, along with future funding need as well as the exciting direction the Foundation is moving ……..
from Hope to a Cure! We are extremely grateful for the support of this generous community….. This is very special time for Bethanys Hope Foundation as we begin our dash to the finish line. A Clinical Trial is on the horizon and we are finally finding the answers to treat Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD)! With the support of folks like you, we are collectively on the verge of finally ending this nightmare for the children and families of MLD! Funds raised from our “Feast with Friends” – Charity Dinner go directly to a future Clinical Trial, conducted through “Bethanys Hope Leukodystrophy Research Laboratory” under the direction of Dr. Tony Rupar of Western University.
